The Green Oriole is distributed in the north of Northern Territory and on both sides of the York Peninsula in Queensland, Australia as well as in the south of Papua New Guinea and adjacent islands.

Green Oriole, Cairns, Queensland, Australia, November 2010 - click for larger image It is found in a variety of habitats from rain forest to gardens where it forages for small fruits and the occasional insect.

It is similar to Olive-backed Oriole O. sagittatus but is yellow-green below as well as above.
