The Dusky Robin is endemic to Tasmania where it is found in woodland and rainforest edges as well as scrubland and gardens.

Juvenile Dusky Robin, Hobart, Tasmania, Australia, February 2006 - click for larger image It is olive-brown with a darkish line through the eye, a whitish mark at the bend of the wing and on the secondaries and the tail faintly edged whitish.

Photo 2 shows a juvenile which is streaked above and mottled below.
