Pied Wheatear breeds from south-east Europe to northern China and winters in north-east Africa and south-west Arabian Peninsula. It is found on migration in the UAE between February and April and between August and November.

I received the following comment from Nick Moran via Oscar Campbell: "Mantle looks much better for (worn) Pied than Eastern Black-eared on my understanding; white throat I assume suggests vittata".
