Pied Wheatear Oenanthe pleschanka |
||||
|
Safa Park, Dubai Pied Wheatear breeds from south-east Europe to northern China and winters in north-east Africa and south-west Arabian Peninsula. It is found on migration in the UAE between February and April and between August and November. |
||||
| This plumage is rather
unusual and might be confused with Eastern Black-eared Wheatear
O. melanoleuca. I received the following comment from Nick
Moran via Oscar Campbell: "Mantle looks much better for
(worn) Pied than Eastern Black-eared on my understanding; white
throat I assume suggests vittata".
There is additional information available via Avibase.
