Little Stint breeds in the tundra of northern Scandinavia to north-western and north-central Siberia. It winters in Africa and the Mediterranean through the Middle East to India with small numbers in south-east Britain. It is found in Abu Dhabi from August to May.

It is a small, dark-legged stint with a short bill. In non-breeding plumage, shown here, it is grey-brown above with dark wedged centres or dark shaft-streaks. The breast has a pale streaked breast band.
