The Mauritian Tomb Bat is distributed throughout much of Africa south of the Sahara. See the distribution map at IUCN.

It is medium sized and is noted for its whitish underparts. During the day it roosts on tree trunks, rocks and buildings in smallish groups. It hunts mainly after dark and its primary prey is moths.
