Eurasian Tree Sparrow Passer montanus | ||||
Spain May 2022 The Eurasian Tree Sparrow is distributed throughout most of Europe and Asia. See the distribution map at xeno-canto. There is also a small population in the Mid-west of the USA descended from birds introduced there in the 19th century in a curious attempt to add to the local avifauna. It is very similar to the House Sparrow though smaller and one of the distinguishing features is its reddish brown crown. |
