Common Reed-warbler Acrocephalus scirpaceus (aka Eurasian Reed Warbler) |
||||
Morocco and England
The Common Reed-warbler breeds in most of Europe, parts of Central Asia and North Africa near the Mediterranean. It winters in Africa south of the Sahara. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It breeds in Phragmites reed beds on lakes, ponds, rivers and ditches though on migration it can also be seen in thickets and tall grasses. |

It is now usually regarded as comprising two sub-species though some authorities class the nominate sub-species as monotypic with the English name of European Reed-warbler. | ||||
