The Himalayan White-browed Rosefinch is distributed from north-east Afghanistan and Pakistan through the Himalayas and in western and south-western China. See the distribution map at Birdlife International.

Female White-browed Rosefinch, Cheli La, Paro, Bhutan, March 2008 - click for larger image The male, seen here in photo 1, has a pink and white supercilium, pink face with dark eyestripe extending over ear coverts, a pink rump and pink underparts. Upperparts are brown with heavy dark streaks. The female, seen in photo 2, lacks the pink, has a brown throat and olive-yellow rump. It also has heavy streaking on the buff underparts.
