The Himalayan Bush-robin breeds along the Himalayas and into south and central China and it winters at lower altitudes. See the distribution map at Birdlife International.

Some authorities classify it as a sub-species of Orange-flanked Bush-robin Tarsiger cyanurus but the HBW and Birdlife International checklist has split that species as shown here.

Both these photos are of a female showing the olive-brown upperparts, the blue tail, white throat, orange flanks and whitish eye-ring. The male has blue upperparts.
