Road, Mongar, Bhutan The Crimson-breasted Woodpecker is distributed from western Nepal and south-east Tibet through north-east India and Myanmar to central and south-west China. It is found in broad leaved forest. |

It has a white wing-patch and streaked underparts with a crimson patch
on the breast which varies in size. The male, seen here, has red on the
nape which is lacking in the female. There are recordings on xeno-canto . |
