Ankasa, Ghana The White-bellied Kingfisher is distributed in tropical Africa from Mauritania and Gambia to Uganda. It is found at small forest streams where it perches low and flies fast over the water. |

At 13cms it is very small and the same size as the African Malachite Kingfisher C. cristatus from which it differs in having a white throat and belly and with more chestnut above the eye. | |||
