Kakum, Ghana The Whistling Cisticola is distributed in tropical Africa from Senegal to South Sudan and also on the southern border of the Congo Basin. For a distribution map see Birdlife International. It is found in tall savanna grassland and open woodland. |

It is greyish brown with rufous edging to the flight feathers. Underparts
are whitish with greyish-rufous flanks to the breast and belly.
Its song is a short and melodious whistled phrase usually made from a prominent perch on top of a bush. |
