The Western Yellow Wagtail breeds in most of Europe and a good part of Asia. It winters in Africa, mainly south of the Sahara, and in India. See the distribution map at Birdlife International.

In photo 1 we have a male of the nominate species while in photo 2 there is a male of the sub-species M. f. feldegg or Black-headed Wagtail. Photo 3 shows a female probably nominate.
