Mosa Park, Ifaty, Madagascar The Thamnornis is distributed in the south-west of Madagascar. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in spiny, sub-desert forest where it feeds on insects taken from low vegetation or the ground. It is greyish-green above and whitish below with a pale supercilium. The bill is slightly decurved and is dark horn above and pale orange below. Normally seen singing on a prominent perch, the song is a trill followed by a whistled "tew-tew-tew" lasting up to 30 seconds. |
