The Tacazze Sunbird is distributed from Ethiopia through Kenya to northern Tanzania. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in highland forest and gardens from 1,800 to 3,900 metres where it feeds on nectar, insects and spiders.
Photo 1 shows male almost in full breeding plumage, photos 2 and 3 show a male in non-breeding plumage and photo 4 shows a female.
