The Simple Greenbul is distributed from Guinea-Bissau to southern Sudan and western Uganda and south to northern Angola and central and north-eastern DR Congo. See the distribution map at Birdlife International.

Simple Greenbul, Ghana, May 2011 - click for larger image It is found in various types of bush and forest edge but not in forest proper. It is generally shy and only rarely comes out in the open. It is usually recognised by its voice - a subdued nasal chattering.

It is a large bulbul, dark brown above and olive-brown below with a contrasting white throat and broken white eyering.
