Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Ruppell's Robin-chat is distributed from Eritrea through Ethiopia and Kenya to northern Tanzania. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in highland forests at altitudes generally higher than White-browed Robin-chat C. heuglini at between 1,200 and 3,100 metres. It differs from White-browed Robin-chat in being smaller with a black rather than a rufous-orange tail. Wilhelm Rüppell was a German collector who made expeditions to Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia in the 19th century. |
