The Rosy-patched Bush-shrike is distributed in east Africa from Sudan through Ethiopia to Tanzania. See the distribution map at IUCN. It is found in semi-arid bush and acacia groves where it feeds on insects and some small fruits. It is largely terrestrial but will sing from the top of a bush.

The male, seen here, has a brilliant pink stripe from throat to lower breast while the female has a white throat surrounded by a black bib above the pink stripe.
