Pied Wheatear, Jemma River, Ethiopia, January 2016 - click for larger image There is a possibility that photo 2 shows a Cyprus Wheatear O. cypriaca which is very similar to Pied Wheatear but the three distinguishing features of a shorter primary projection, a broader black tip to the tail and a shorter white rump are not visible in this photo.

Photo 1 shows the non-breeding plumage while photo 3 with a white throat shows the sub-species O. p. vittata.
