Bilen, Ethiopia The Nile Valley Sunbird is distributed in the Nile Valley as well as parts of Sudan, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Eritrea, Somalia and the south-west of the Arabian Peninsula. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in scrub and bushy areas. |

H. collaris but has long tail streamers. The female is grey above and pale yellow below and lacks the tail streamers. The non-breeding male is
similar to the female but sometimes has tail streamers. |
