Madagascar The Madagascar Harrier-hawk is endemic to Madagascar where it is found in forests and woodlands mainly below 1,300 metres. It is absent from the deforested central plateau. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. |

It is the second largest raptor in Madagascar after the Madagascar Fish-eagle. The colour of its cere can vary from pale yellow as in photo 3 to bright pink as in photo 4 depending on the individual and/or the degree of excitement. | |||
