The Hairy-breasted Barbet is distributed in tropical Africa from Sierra Leone in the west to north-west Tanzania in the east and south to northern Angola and southern Zaire. It is strictly a forest barbet and it usually feeds on fruit (some quite large as in photo 3) and arthropods fairly high up in the trees.
