Ethiopia The Emerald-spotted Wood-dove is distributed in suitable habitat across much of east Africa from Ethiopia to South Africa as well as towards the Atlantic coast. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in dry bush, scrub and woodland up to about 1,500m. |

It is similar to Blue-spotted Wood-dove T. afer but has green spots rather than blue spots on the wings and a black bill. | |||
