Ghana and Ethiopia The Blue-spotted Wood-dove is distributed in tropical Africa from Senegal in the west to Mozambique in the east. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in moister habitats than Black-billed Wood-dove T. abyssinicus such as forest edges, gallery forest and dense woodland. |

It is similar to Black-billed Wood-dove but is darker and
has a dusky-red bill with a yellow tip.
The song is a series of plaintive hoos. |
