The Dusky-blue Flycatcher is distributed in tropical Africa from Sierra Leone to Burundi and north-west Angola. It is found in forest edges and clearings as well as cultivated areas.

Dusky-blue Flycatcher, Atewa Forest, Ghana, June 2011 - click for larger image It is dark slaty-grey above with brownish-black wings. Below it has a white throat. It has a narrow white line above the eye which merges into a white eye-ring.

It's alarm call is a series of churrrs.
