Red Fox, The Coorong, SA, Australia, February 2006 - click for larger image The Red Fox is widely distributed in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa north of the Sudan. It was introduced to Australia (presumably so that the colonists had something to hunt) and these photos were taken there.

It is found in a wide variety of habitats from Arctic tundra to city centres.
