| The photos here show a female
ovipositing in my garden pond. It has amber-coloured wings and
yellow bars on the side of the thorax. The male has blue spots
along the side of the abdomen, bluish eyes and a
"waist". They will mate in the tree tops then the male leaves the female to go on her own to find a site for ovipositing. There is a page from the British Dragonfly Society and a distribution map is available from the National Biodiversity Network. |
