Zeledon's Antbird is distributed from Nicaragua through Costa Rica and Panama to western Colombia and western Ecuador. See the distribution map at xeno-canto. It is found mainly in the understorey of wet, forested foothills and is a bit of a skulker.

These photos are of a male. The female is mainly dark brown.

It used to be lumped with Immaculate Antbird Hafferia immaculata or Myrmeciza immaculata but there are notable vocal differences.
