The Yellow-faced Parrotlet is endemic to Peru and is distributed in a small area of the Upper Marañon Valley. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in desert scrub and dry, deciduous forest at between 600 and 2,000 metres. |

It is similar to Pacific Parrotlet F. coelestis but with bright yellow on the face and throat. This attractive parrot has been a target of the caged bird trade and with a declining population in a restricted area is classified as Vulnerable. | ||||
