Rio Santiago, Honduras March 2015 The White-bellied Emerald is distributed from southern Mexico and Belize through northern Guatemala and Honduras to Nicaragua. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in forest, woodland and coffee and banana plantations and is more confined to the forest than most other Amazilias. |

It has a straight, blackish bill with pinkish base to the lower mandible. Upperparts are
golden to bronzy-green while the throat, central underparts and undertail coverts are white.
It feeds on nectar and small insects. |
