Silver Teal Spatula versicolor

The Silver Teal is distributed from central Peru to Tierra del Fuego. It is partially migratory with some of the southernmost birds moving north to southern Brazil in the austral winter while there is also a resident breeding population in southern Brazil.

The black cap extends below the eye and the bill is blue with a yellow base. In flight one can see the green speculum with white borders.
