|Purplish Jay (Cyanocorax cyanomelas)

The Purplish Jay is distributed in south-central South America from south-east Peru through Bolivia and Paraguay into south-west Brazil and northern Argentina. It is found in deciduous and gallery woodland as well as nearby scrub.
|It is the dullest South American Jay being drab purple in colour with black head and chest. They are noisy and conspicuous usually moving in groups of about 6.
