| Emas, Goiás, Brazil April 2001 Seedeaters, particularly females, are notoriously difficult to identify properly which has caused some taxonomic confusion. Recent studies have led to the separation of Pearly-bellied Seedeater from Copper Seedeater S. bouvreuil. |

| Pearly-bellied Seedeaters are distributed in south Brazil and adjacent areas of Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina. See the distribution map at xeno-canto.
