Pico Bonito, Honduras March 2015 The Orchard Oriole breeds in central and eastern North America and winters from Mexico through Central America to Colombia and Venezuela. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in open woodlands, grassland and pastures with scattered trees and, appropriately, in orchards. |

In breeding areas it feeds mainly on insects and spiders with a small amount of berries and fruits. In winter it feeds on berries and also, as seen here, on nectar. | |
