The Orange-eyed Thornbird is distributed in the south-east of Brazil from southern Bahia to the east of São Paulo State. See the distribution map at xeno-canto.
|It is distinguished from Orange-breasted Thornbird P. ferrugineigula by having an orange rather than red iris, rufous only on the forecrown, an entirely rufous tail and with rufous confined to the throat on the underparts.|
