| Clements and eBird both lump it with Southern Streaked Flycatcher M. solitarius but it has been split by the HBW and Birdlife International checklist on the basis that Southern Streaked Flycatcher has less ochre on the wings and tail, broader and deeper streaking above and below and differences in vocalisations. | ||||
