|Montane Woodcreeper Lepidocolaptes lacrymiger
Colombian name: Trepatroncos Montañero
The Montane Woodcreeper is distributed in the Andes from northern Venezuela to western Bolivia. See the distribution map at NatureServe. It is found in montane forest and forest borders mostly between 1,500 and 3,000 metres.
|Within its area of distribution the slender, downcurved bill is distinctive. Note also the bold white spots
with black surrounds on the underparts and the white superciliary.
Photo 1 was taken at Otún-Quimbaya while photos 2 and 3 are of the sub-species L. l. sanctaemartae taken on the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
