Huembo Reserve, Amazonas, Peru October 2018 The Mitred Parakeet is distributed from northern Peru to north-west Argentina. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in montane woodland and forest edges at between 1,600 and 3,400 metres. |

It is similar to Cordilleran Parakeet P. frontatus but it lacks red on the wing and has scattered red feathers on the sides of the neck and breast. | ||||
