Colombia and Ecuador The Masked Trogon is distributed in the Andes from western Venezuela to Bolivia with disjunct populations around the Roraima area of Brazil and Guyana. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in forest and forest edges mainly between 1,000 and 2,500 metres. It feeds on fruit and insects and, in photo 2 has caught a large, hairy caterpillar. Photos 1 to 4 are of the male and 5 and 6 of the female |
