Many-banded Aracari (Pteroglossus pluricinctus)
Many-banded Aracari, São Gabriel da Cachoeira, Brazil, August 2004 - click for larger image Brazil

The Many-banded Aracari is distributed from eastern Colombia to eastern Peru and into north-west Brazil and southern Venezuela. It is found in forest and sandy-soil woodland.

Although this photo is distant and taken in heavy rain, there is no mistaking the 2 black belts on the yellow belly. No other aracari has two bands across the belly. You can also make out the pale upper mandible, the black lower mandible and, maybe with a bit of imagination, the blue bare skin round the eye.
