The Long-billed Wren is a Brazilian endemic found in north-east and in south-east Brazil though apparently lacking from much of Bahia. It is found in the undergrowth of forest and woodland but tends to be quite difficult to see.

Long-billed Wren, Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, Brazil, October 2008 - click for larger image It has a very long bill, a white supercilium, a black eye stripe, rufescent brown upperparts with barring on the wings and tail while below, the white chin leads into a buffy breast.
