The Lesser Greenlet is distributed from south-eastern Mexico through Central America to Colombia, Ecuador and north-west Peru. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in evergreen and semi-deciduous forest and forest edges up to about 1,000m in the main.

Lesser Greenlet, Tikal, Guatemala, March 2015 - click for larger image The smallest member of the vireo family it feeds mainly on invertebrates. The birds I saw were very active and restless and often hung upside down while searching the leaves for prey.
