Casupe, Cajamarca, Peru October 2018 The Ecuadorian Piculet is distributed in western Ecuador and north-west Peru. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in dry deciduous forest and arid scrubby areas up to 1,800 metres. |

It is brownish-grey above and heavily barred black and white below. The male has yellow tips to the forecrown
feathers.
