Serra da Canastra, Minas Gerais, Brazil October 2022 Dubois's Seedeater is distributed in the central eastern part of Brazil. See the distribution map at xeno-canto. So it is a Brazilian endemic. |

It is found in shrubby and grassy clearings up to about 800 metres.
The male looks very similar to Yellow-bellied Seedeater S. nigricollis except for the plain white belly. The female is difficult to separate from other female Sporophila except when in close proximity to a male as was the case here. |
