The Cinnamon Attila is distributed throughout most of the Amazon Basin and into the Guyanas. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in damp forest usually near water such as várzea and igapó.

It is cinnamon-rufous in colour with a paler rump and underparts. The bill is black and the eye is brown. The primaries are blackish.
