Ecuador November 2019 The Choco Tyrannulet is distributed in the extreme south-west of Colombia and in the west of Ecuador. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in a variety of wooded habitats and in gardens from sea-level to about 1,600 metres. |

Until recently this species was lumped with Golden-faced Tyrannulet Z. chrysops but was elevated to species status on the basis of vocal differences, some minor plumage differences and DNA evidence. | |||
