Brown-banded Puffbird (Notharchus ordii)

The Brown-banded Puffbird is a smaller (20 cms - 8") version of the White-necked Puffbird (N. macrorhynchus).

It has a smaller amount of white on the forehead, brown below black on its breast band and barring on its belly.

Its scientific name comes from George Ord, an American naturalist who lived from 1781 to 1866.
