The Black-throated Blue Warbler breeds in north-eastern North America and winters in the West Indies. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in forest, woodland and gardens.

Black-throated Blue Warbler, La Güira, Cuba, February 2005 - click for larger image The male is dark grey-blue above with black throat and cheeks. Remaining underparts are white. The female, seen here in the 3rd photo, is dark olive-brown above and pale brown below. It has a whitish supercilium and a small white crescent below the eye. Both sexes have a white wing patch but this is not always visible.
