Huembo Reserve, Amazonas, Peru October 2018 The Andean Emerald is distributed in the Andes of Colombia, Ecuador and northern Peru. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is found in dry scrub and woodland edges at between 400 and 2,750 metres though mainly above 1,000 metres. |

It is strikingly white below. Only the male has a blue crown. The female's is green. | |||
