The Agile Tit-tyrant is distributed from western Venezuela through Colombia to Ecuador where it is found in the cloud forest of the Andes at between 1,800 and 3,400 metres. See the distribution map at Birdlife International. It is particularly associated with stands of Chusquea bamboo.
